Privacy policy.

This policy explains what data the Chill Hutz website collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no payments on this site — and analytics runs only if you allow it.
Who we are
Chill Hutz is a garden resort and restaurant at Kamakchi Amman Kovil Road, near the railway track, Mylambaveli 30024, Sri Lanka. For anything in this policy, call us on 077 202 0394. We are the data controller for the data described here.
What we collect
Analytics — only with your consent. If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics (via Firebase) to understand how the site is used: pages visited, time on page, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and anonymised identifiers. If you decline, analytics never loads and no analytics cookies are set.
Preferences — stored on your device. Your cookie choice and your “reduce motion” setting are saved in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and identify nothing about you.
What we don’t collect: names, email addresses, payment details, or booking information. Bookings happen on Booking.com under Booking.com’s privacy policy, and phone calls to us are just phone calls.

Why, and on what basis
Analytics runs on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see below). Everything else the site stores is functional — it exists solely so the site works the way you asked it to.
Third parties
Google (Firebase Analytics). Processes analytics data on our behalf if you consent, on Google infrastructure that may be outside your country. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Cloudinary. Serves the images on this site from its content delivery network. Like any server that sends you a file, it sees your IP address to deliver it. See the Cloudinary Privacy Policy.
Booking.com and Google Maps. Links to book a room or get directions take you to their sites, where their own policies apply.
Your choices
You can change your mind any time: the “Cookie settings” link in the footer reopens the consent banner, and declining stops analytics from loading on future page views. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. To ask about, correct, or delete data connected to your visits, call us on 077 202 0394.
Retention
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ settings (user-level data up to 14 months). Preferences in local storage stay on your device until you clear them.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Children are, of course, welcome at the resort.
Changes to this policy
If we start collecting anything new — for example, if we ever add a booking or contact form — we will update this page and the date at the top before it happens.
